Little Treasures® Baby Casting Kit Instructions
Preparation
1. Keep Baby Happy
Feed or change baby before starting. A calm baby makes the process easier. For your first try, begin with a foot casting.
2. Water Temperature (Very Important!)
Use cool to room-temperature water 75–78°F (24–26°C).
Warm water = faster set.
Cold water = slower set.
Step 1: Create the Mold
3. Measure Water
Hand: Use the smaller container (fill to the marked line).
Foot: Use the larger container (fill to the marked line).
4. Mix Molding Powder
Sprinkle Step 1 Molding Powder into the water while stirring.
Mix for 1–3 minutes until smooth.
Tap the container gently to release surface bubbles.
5. Make the Mold
Dip baby’s hand/foot straight down into the gel.
Keep centered, not touching bottom or sides.
Hold still.
6. Let Gel Set (3–4 Minutes)
The gel will firm into a soft, rubbery mold.
Keep baby in position until set.
7. Remove Baby
Gently wiggle side-to-side until free.
Do not yank; allow natural release.
Step 2: Cast the Keepsake
8. Measure Casting Water
Pour the amount of cool water indicated into a mixing bowl.
9. Mix Casting Stone
Add entire bag of Step 2 Casting Stone.
Stir for 1–3 minutes to pancake-batter consistency.
Let sit briefly to allow bubbles to rise.
10. Prime the Mold
Pour half of the mix into the mold.
Tap and tilt the container to release trapped bubbles (especially in fingers/toes).
11. Fill the Mold
Pour in the remaining mixture.
Tap again to settle and level.
Step 3: Reveal & Finish
12. Cure the Casting
Let sit at least 4 hours (overnight preferred).
Do not move while setting.
13. Demold (The Big Reveal!)
Flex and peel the mold away gently.
Remove in sections until casting is free.
14. Finishing Touches
Use included tools/sandpaper to smooth edges.
Clear small holes between fingers/toes.
Optionally paint or seal once fully dry.
💡 Tips for Best Results
Work quickly: molding powder sets fast once mixed.
Tap containers often to remove bubbles.
Never force baby’s hand/foot in or out.
Keep fingers and toes naturally spread for best detail.
